2012 Hospice Hillclimb Series

The Hospice Hillclimb Series returns even bigger for 2012, with 7 events. And two of them are 'a bit different' – they're only partly on tarmac, since they're up the Kirkby Slate road – see photo – which degrades into gravel and stones as you climb!

The series is organised by Howard Lindow, and it now has its own website with lots of details of the races and the climbs – see groupspaces.com/HospiceHillclimbs.

Inter-club Hillclimb Competition

As last year, the series will again feature an interclub competition between the Lakes Road Club and Barrow Central Wheelers. The scores will be an accumulation of the times posted by the fastest two riders from each club over the 5 road-climb events – which are the climbs of Grizebeck, Gamswell, Knottallow, Bigland Hall and Woodland (the off-road Kirkby slate race are not included). And the Hospice Hillclimb Trophy will be awarded to the winning club at the end of the season.
