Because we are trying to encourage Cross in the area, the plan was to set out the course out on the Friday and hold a Go-Ride cyclocross day on the Saturday, for children of all ages
without a British Cycling licence to try out cyclocross. But sadly the heavy snow meant that this 'Go-Cross' day had to be cancelled.
However, the Wheelbase North of England Cyclocross Championship races on the Sunday went ahead, with spectacular snowy conditons, and was very successful.
Paul Oldham (Hope Factory Racing) and Victoria Wilkinson (BC PM) won the men's and women's senior events, and were crowned the North of England Cyclo-Cross champions. The full details of winners in the various categories were:-

Disappointing Postscript
The organisers, Donna and Paul Loftus, had hoped that the event next year could a national trophy event and had submitted it for this. But everyone - volunteers, sponsors Wheelbase, and everyone involved - is now very disappointed since we've heard that it hasn't been chosen, despite the great venue and course, and how well this year's event went.
